How to Install Market Analyst
We believe Market Analyst is an essential tool for any Advanced Trader who is looking at analysing financial markets with technical analysis methods. To ensure your installation of Market Analyst begins as smoothly as possible we have listed below some detailed instructions on how to download Market Analyst, and how to set up your user account.
With broad-band being fairly standard these days being online usually isn’t a problem, however just in-case I’ll mention that an internet connection is required to install the program.
Of course these days where there’s an internet connection, there’s
usually a Firewall, and while the majority of people don’t have any
problems, some of the more insidious, system choking, internet security
programs out there can throw a spanner in the works. Because we can’t tell which firewall you’re using we suggest everyone disables their firewall programs until the program has been opened at least once.
Now
that you have all the important information, you can follow the
procedures listed below on how to download the setup file, and install
/ run the program.
At any time you wish to adjust your Subscription Version, Data Exchanges or cancel the subscription all together you can do so via the Subscription Manager. For additional information click here.
Step 1 - Downloading the Free Trial Setup File
To download the Setup.exe file, left click on the button below:
The Save As window will appear.
A progress window will open, displaying the estimated time remaining before the file has completed downloading.
Once the download process has completed, left click the Run button.
Step 2 - Installing Market Analyst 6
The Welcome to Market Analyst 6 window will display.
Click the Next button to begin the installation process. The Destination Folders window will display.
The Destination Folders window allows you to select alternative paths to store the Market Analyst 6 program files, and data files.
Tip - If you are using Windows Vista with UAC enabled, it is highly recommended the installation paths are not altered. The default paths have been optimized to ensure no security problems are encountered with Market Analyst 6.
Click the Next button to continue.
The Shortcuts window will display. 
The Program Group name controls the label used in your Windows Start Menu and can be altered if desired.
If
your PC is used by multiple people, each using their own Windows
username and password, you can select whether Market Analyst is
available to All Users, or limited to the Account you are currently
logged into.
It is recommended you use All Users for this option.
Left click the Next button to continue.
The Ready to Install window will open.
Tip - If
you want to change a setting selected in a previous window, simply left
click the Back button until you have returned to the window containing
the setting you want to adjust. Want to cancel the install and try later? Left click the Cancel button. 
Once you are happy with all of your selections in the previous windows, left click the Install button to begin extracting the Market Analyst program files to your computer.
Once all files have been extracted to your system the Installation Result window will open.
Tip - If you disabled any Firewall software before running the installation process you can turn it back on now.
This will ensure your firewall detects Market Analyst 6 as it opens,
and automatically prompts you to grant permission for Market Analyst 6
full access to the Internet. If you do not want to run Market Analyst immediately, untick the Run Market Analyst 6 Now checkbox.
Click the Finish process to complete the installation process.
Step 3 - Running Market Analyst
With the installation complete, a shortcut for Market Analyst 6 will be added to your Desktop. Double click this shortcut to open the Market Analyst program.
The Welcome to Market Analyst window will display:
Located on the bottom right corner of the page will be the Register for New Subscription button. Left click this button once.
The Choose Username and Password window will display:
In this window, enter your First and Last name. Then enter in your desired Username. The username must be at least 8 characters long, and contain only letters or numbers. Finally enter in the Password you wish to use for your account. (You need to enter the password twice to ensure there were no typos).
Once all fields have been entered, click the Continue button.
The Your Address window will display:
Enter in your Postal Address, including your Suburb, State and Post code. Enter the email address you would like us to use for program specific correspondence. SPAM Filters: Some web based email accounts will mark emails from Market Analyst as SPAM, meaning you will not see them in your inbox. If you are using a webmail program, please click on the link below for information on resolving this issue:
Enter your phone number(s) and click the Continue button.
The How did you find out about Market Analyst window will display:
Enter in your referrer (Friend, Internet, Educator Name, Webpage, etc) and click the Continue button.
The Choose your edition of Market Analyst window will display:
There are 4 editions available: Lite, Professional, Gann and Astronomical. To view which chart styles, modules, tools and indicators are included in each edition please click here.
Once you have selected the edition you wish to trial, click the Continue button.
The Choose your Data Services window will display:
Each edition of Market Analyst comes with some free data exchanges:
- Lite - You will have 1 Free Data Exchange
- Professional - You Will have 2 Free Data Exchanges
- Gann - You Will Have 3 Free Data Exchanges
- Astronomical - You Will Have 4 Free Data Exchanges
You can add additional data exchanges to the trial by ticking the checkbox next to the exchange name.
Note: If you go on to subscribe to Market Analyst, each additional exchange will cost an additional $10.00AUD.Once you have selected the data exchanges you wish to use in your trial, click the Continue button.
The Terms and Conditions window will display:
Read through the Terms and Conditions listed. If you click the Decline button the program will close back to the Desktop. You can read the terms and conditions anytime on our website.
Click on I Agree to continue.
The Summary window will display:
A summary of all the details you have entered will display. You can adjust any of the items displayed by left clicking the [edit] links. The Billing information will be empty, don't worry about that, once you have had a chance to evaluate Market Analyst and hopefully you decide to subscribe, you can fill that in. When you have confirmed the details are correct, click the Continue button.
You will be taken to the Market Analyst Login screen:
Your username will already be filled in. Type in your Password, and click the Login button.
The program will open to the Market Analyst Welcome Screen.
